Access to Justice Award 2025
The Access to Justice Award is intended to recognise a New Zealander (or qualifying New Zealand resident) who has made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of access to justice.
Nominations for the award have closed and the recipient will be announced at the formal conference dinner. For further details on the award see below.
Bar and Bench Art Exhibition
The concept of an exhibition, displaying the creativity of the bar and bench, is back at this year’s annual Bar Conference. We are calling for submissions from “paint-by-numbers aficionados,” those who “like to colour inside or outside the lines,” and “serious abstract, impressionist or surrealist artists (or all three).” We encourage all fine and not-so-fine artists, photographers, textile artists, and crafters to get their paintbrushes, cameras, and needles out and submit one or two of their favourite works.
