A Junior is a barrister with less than seven years’ post admission experience. The seven years may include time spent in a legal firm/public sector or other legal role.

Full membership of the NZBA is open to every person who is the holder of a current New Zealand practising certificate as a Barrister Sole.
In some circumstances, persons other than barristers sole may become Associate Members of the NZBA
