Navigating the Chaos: The Role of Barristers Today

4-5 September | QT Hotel | Tāhuna, Queenstown, New Zealand

Bringing together leading advocates from across the common law world, this conference tackles one of the defining questions of our time: how justice is delivered in rapidly changing and increasingly polarised societies.

Registrations Open!

It is a rare opportunity to step back from day-to-day practice and engage with the skills, values, and independence that define the Bar, alongside the real pressures facing barristers and justice systems today.

With senior speakers from Aotearoa New Zealand, England and Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Hong Kong, Australia, and Northern Ireland - with more to be announced - the programme will offer sharp insight, global perspective, and practical reflection on the future of advocacy.

The New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o Te Ture, and The Australian Bar Association, in conjunction with The International Council of Advocates and Barristers (ICAB), invite members to join us for two days of discussion, reflection, and connection at the QT Hotel in Tāhuna, Queenstown.

The conference will provide space for rigorous debate, shared experience, and forward thinking. Further details, including speakers and sessions, will be announced shortly.

Please note: Registration is only available to ICAB organisations and their members. Click here for a list of relevant organisations.
