As the voice of an independent Bar, we rely on the strength of our members to guide our direction, uphold our values, and shape our future. The Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture is your opportunity to be part of that.

When: Thursday, 21 August 2025 at 1.00pm
Where: Online via Zoom (advance registration required)
All Members are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held online via Zoom and will close at 2.15pm. You must register in advance for the meeting. Relevant papers will be circulated ahead of time. Voting is open to full members with current subscriptions. If you can’t attend, you may vote by proxy.
COUNCIL NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN
We're also calling for nominations to join the NZBA Council, including the role of President-Elect. If you're committed to the future of an independent profession and ready to lead from within, we encourage you to put your name forward.
Available roles:
- President-Elect (2025–2026; President from 2026–2028)
- Council Members (two-year term from October 2025)
- Associate Council Members (two-year term from October 2025)
This is more than governance. It’s a chance to advocate for the Bar, contribute to the profession, and represent your peers.
