I have nearly 20 years of experience in criminal and civil litigation. I act for a number of high profile and privacy-sensitive individuals. I regularly appear in court, including in the jury-trial jurisdiction.

In addition to my LLB(Hons)/BA from the University of Auckland (graduating with a Senior Prize and Senior Scholarship respectively), I hold an LLM (graduating as a Scholar) from Columbia University in the City of New York.

I was the inaugural full-time junior counsel to David PH Jones KC, returning to practice with him after completing my LLM. Before moving to the independent bar in 2016, I was a Senior Associate at MinterEllisonRuddWatts.

I am Convenor of one of the Auckland Standards Committees. I am an appointed member of the NZLS National S30 Interview Panel. I conduct interviews on behalf of NZLS for Certificate of Character applicants. I am also the author of the chapter on “Surveillance” in the Thomson Reuters’ publication, Privacy Law in New Zealand. I present regularly for NZLS CLE and Legalwise.

I am available for private and legal aid instructions (civil and all PAL levels of criminal).
