Louisa Jackson

I am a specialist family law barrister. I advise and represent clients in all areas of family law, with a special interest in complex relationship property, estate claims, incapacity issues, relocation, and matters relating to children.

I am an experienced litigator and have regularly appeared in the Family Court and High Court. I draw on this experience to provide strategic advice across all areas of family law. I am happiest when helping my clients resolve disputes in a positive and efficient way. If it becomes necessary to go to Court, I am an able litigator and a strong advocate for my clients.

Prior to becoming a barrister, I was an Associate at a specialist family law firm in Wellington and Crown Counsel at the Crown Law Office. I have a first-class Honours degree in Law, a bachelor’s degree in social policy, and have published articles relating to relationship property, child protection, and mental health.

I am empathetic, clear headed, and I understand the difficulties presented by family conflict. Whether in negotiation, mediation, or litigation, I work to ensure my clients feel heard, receive practical advice, and find the best path forward.
