Bronwyn McKinlay

I have 30 years of commercial litigation experience and hold an LL.B, and a B.Com in Management from the University of Canterbury, and a postgraduate Specialist Certificate in Global Competition Law from the University of Melbourne.

My experience includes representing clients in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, and at arbitrations and mediations.

I have extensive experience in project management of large commercial litigation. I also have expertise assisting senior counsel with drafting pleadings, briefing witnesses, working with expert witnesses, document management and review, and interlocutory hearings, trials and appeals.

My work includes advising and representing clients in: regulatory proceedings including in relation to the Commerce Commission and Financial Markets Authority; judicial review proceedings; insurance, contract, franchising and shareholder disputes; trust litigation; proceedings in relation to misrepresentation, fraud and breach of duty; and proceedings for urgent relief, including injunctions, and search and freezing orders.

I am particularly interested in IT and AI, and passionate about leading edge technology for law and business.

I have previously practised at Bell Gully, Minter Ellison, Allens (in Australia) and Duncan Cotterill.
