Erin Jane Davies

I am a specialist employment lawyer with extensive experience representing public and private clients. I advise on all aspects of employment law, including around core employment issues, workplace fraud and investigations, disputes about status (employee/contractor issues), personal grievances (including for redundancy and misconduct), health and safety, discrimination, harassment, contractual disputes, compliance and union matters. My practice spans advocacy in the Employment Court and Employment Relations Authority, Human Rights Review Tribunal, mediations and workplace and sports investigations.

I graduated BA / LLB from Canterbury Law School in 1995. I was a senior partner at Meredith Connell for nearly 10 years leading its employment law team and, in July 2024, commenced practice as a barrister sole. I was previously employed as a Senior Associate at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and practised in Australia and New Zealand.



I am an Associate Member of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ). I am also a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and a qualified workplace investigator, holding the AWI-CH qualification since 2017. I was appointed to the panel as an expert mediator and investigator for Sport and Recreation Complaints and Mediation Service (SRCMS) in 2023.
