Wellington Presentation | Gender Ratio Report

The New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture & Wellington Women Lawyers’ Association welcome lawyers of all genders and backgrounds to join us for a presentation on our 2024 Report, Gender Ratio of Counsel Appearing in the higher courts, a follow up on our previous findings.

The event will also feature the Chief Justice, the Rt Hon Dame Helen Winkelmann, as a guest speaker.

The report confirms that despite an increase of women in the profession, the percentage of women appearing as lead counsel over the last four years is 30 per cent for the Court of Appeal and 26 per cent for the Supreme Court.

The presentation will begin at 5.30pm sharp. Drinks and nibbles will be provided post-event.
