The Presenters:
Miriam Dean CNZM QC is a barrister, director, reviewer and mediator and arbitrator. She has a proven record in conducting public inquiries along with more than 35 years of experience in commercial dispute resolution and 25 years in governance across a diverse range of boards. This experience shapes the advice she provides and the investigative work she carries out. In both capacities, she takes a focused, sound and practical approach. Miriam is ranked in the top 20 dispute resolution providers at the New Zealand bar in the 2014 Chambers and Partners Survey. Miriam took Silk in 2004 and was awarded CNZM in 2008.

Simon Mount QC is a barrister specialising in civil and criminal litigation, regulatory law, health and media law, and public inquiries. He began his career as a Judges Clerk in 1995, received a Fulbright Scholarship in 1997, and an LLM degree from Columbia Law School in New York in 1999. He was a litigator and Crown Prosecutor in Auckland from 2000-2010, and has appeared at all levels in the New Zealand court system, including the Privy Council. Simon was Counsel assisting at the Pike River Royal Commission in 2011-2012 and Counsel for New Zealand Police, for the Inquest into the death of the Kahui twins in 2010-2012. |

Cancellation-Refund Policy:
If a participant is unable to attend the seminar, a substitute participant is welcome to attend at no additional cost. If you cannot find a substitute or attend the live webinar yourself, a recording together with CPD material can be made available to you shortly afterwards. A refund less a service fee of $25.00 will apply to all cancellations (received in writing) before midday Friday 22 June 2018. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after that time. The NZBA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule seminars if necessary.
