Clive Elliott QC is an accomplished barrister, patent attorney, arbitrator, artist and author. He is well known for his expertise as a lawyer and for his service to the profession in many roles, both local and international. He is a former president of the NZBA and continues to sit on the Intellectual Property Committee of the NZLS, where he served as convenor for 10 years.

Clive comes to our virtual coach for a chat with Sarah Wroe, in a pivotal time in our history about the role of the profession in not only upholding the rule of law but the integrity of our institutions and supporting individuals, families and communities. Clive will explain why attending to our own wellbeing as practitioners and individually is just the first step in being able to focus outwards for the benefit of society at large. They will discuss Clive’s new book “The Power of Wellbeing: A blueprint for rebuilding the social fabric and reimagining an inclusive society”.

Sarah Wroe is a barrister at Eldon Chambers, Auckland, and a member of the Bar Association’s Education committee. She graduated First Class in law from Cambridge University and was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 1998. She practised as a civil and criminal barrister in England for 7 years. She was admitted to the Bar here in 2011 and joined the independent Bar in 2017.  Sarah has a  general common law practice with a particular focus on matters touching on property law. She is an adjunct instructor for the College of Law Professional Legal  Studies Course in property, civil litigation, and advocacy.
